New integrated services solution brings energy management into the 21st Century.

Power Efficiency, the energy procurement and carbon strategy consultancy, has launched a suite of integrated services designed specifically to help organisations in the property sector to simplify and manage all aspects of their energy portfolio, consumption and on-charging. This announcement follows last month's acquisition of Power Efficiency by Balfour Beatty, and underlines the additional capabilities that Power Efficiency will now be able to offer to customers. This new service, the first in a series of initiatives planned, will enable clients to offer maximum efficiency and cost savings for their customers with the advantage of Power Efficiency's twelve years expertise in managing the energy estates of large property portfolios.

The Power Efficiency Property Solution delivers a wide range of features including procurement advice, contract consolidation, and strategies for securing credit, carbon reporting, energy portfolio management and status reporting. Power Efficiency will also act as an intermediary to resolve tenant issues, and will help with invoice validation.

"This service will help to meet the requirements of organisations in the property sector, many of whom typically have a large number of buildings to manage,” said Bobby Collinson, Managing Director of Power Efficiency. “We understand what is important to them, whether this is negotiating complex credit arrangements with energy suppliers or monitoring meters and keeping abreast of regulatory changes. We can help them across all these areas, ensuring that they secure the best energy contracts for their own specific requirements and receive practical guidance, which will help to reduce costs. Essentially this service makes us an extension of their team and as a Balfour Beatty company, we will be in a position to add further services that will help our property sector customers."

Customers will make savings through the process efficiencies of having a single organisation coordinating their energy activities, better energy deals, centralised data capture and reporting, and newly harmonised energy contract renewals to name but a few. In addition, the Power Efficiency account team will be constantly monitoring the energy markets, relevant legislation and wealth of data automatically sent to Power Efficiency by an estate's meters, to ensure customers receives the best advice for managing their whole energy estate, including carbon reduction, rather individual components.

"Contract consolidation and harmonisation is just one example of where this service has great benefit," added Collinson. "By reviewing the whole estate, we can lower the number of suppliers, and harmonise contract start and end dates. This gives customers much more buying power when they reach contract renewal, but is a very difficult thing to organise across a property portfolio, when there are so many other demands from the business."

The Power Efficiency Property Solution also gives companies access to a secure online portal where they can review the latest usage data pertinent to their estate, as well as energy market reports.
