Posted: September 30, 2011
Power Efficiency, the energy procurement and carbon strategy consultancy, is working in association with the Major Energy Users’ Council (MEUC) to host a series of training days focused on the Principles and Practice of Gas and Electricity Purchasing.
The training days will coincide with the launch of a new workbook, co-authored by Mark Callaway, Energy Markets Director at Power Efficiency, a Balfour Beatty company, and Robin Welsby, Commodity Manager Energy and Utilities Europe at Celanese International. The training will form part of the MEUC’s established Training Academy for industrial, commercial and public sector energy users.
The dates are as follows:
- London, South Bank University: October 4th
- Warwick University: October 5th
- Manchester University: October 6th, 2011.
Mark Callaway, who will present at all three venues, said: “We will be looking at the impact of the recent rise in energy prices and how companies can improve mechanisms for purchasing gas and electricity. The courses will provide an overview of the Government’s energy policies and delegates will be trained in how to understand the markets and identify the practical approaches they can take to managing their energy contracts.”
Further information on the courses is available at: www.meuc.co.uk
